Miranda has been an integral part of the Barreworks desk staff since this the fall of 2015, and we’re thrilled to welcome her on board as an instructor! She is a bright light of positivity, an incredibly hard worker, and a dedicated team player.
Read our short interview with Miranda and learn about why she loves teaching, her experience as a professional dancer, and her favourite Barreworks memory!
You’ve been part of the Barreworks family for awhile now, what are you most looking forward to about your new role as an instructor?
I am most looking forward to building personal relationships with clients. I am excited to come in for class and have a client base who I know and who knows me, and be able to help them achieve their individual fitness goals.
What is it that you love most about teaching at Barreworks?
There are many things I love about teaching at Barreworks including the supportive, positive environment, the ability to stay in shape as part of my job, and constantly being challenged to create new additions and changes to my classes. All of that being said, my absolute favourite part is being able to inspire and help our clients feel their best! I so believe in the Barreworks technique and having the ability to share it with clients feels exceptionally rewarding.
What would you say is your favourite Barreworks memory?
I always love it when clients come by to chat with me after class. This can be about anything – how the class felt, how to handle a recent injury, what they had for lunch, etc. After one of my classes, I had a regular client come up to me and compliment me on the class. This may seem subtle, as people are very friendly and they usually feel good after a workout! But this particular client had been in my very first class the week prior. Even in just a week, I had felt my class grow, but I was nervous to see how she would feel about it because she knows Barreworks so well! So when she came up to me, looked me in the eye and said, “That was a great class, Miranda” it felt so genuine, as she also felt how much I had improved.
Tell us a bit about your background as a professional dancer!
This past year, I have danced and/or choreographed for Corpus Dance Projects, Dance Migration, Rock Bottom Movement, and The YMI Youth Company. this Spring, I have been touring in Asia and the U.S. with Corpus Dance Projects and across Canada with The View Dance Challenge. In June 2016, I will be attending Transformation Danse in Montréal, a 2-week contemporary dance intensive accumulating in a showing on June 17th. In the summer, my focus will be on furthering my Barreworks training and teaching as many classes as I can! I can’t wait!
