We invite you to join us for our upcoming Feature Workshop: Barre for Runners, with barre instructor, Kathia! This 1-hour workshop will provide further insight on the WHY's behind our technique, how our exercises directly benefit a runner's body and training, and the importance of a balanced workout.
There is much to be said for how Barreworks classes can complement, and improve, your running game. Most notably, is the advantage of strength training and its impact on injury prevention. Why Barreworks, specifically? Well, for one thing, you're targeting smaller muscle groups, stabilizers that may be weak or even unused. Repetitious workouts and consistent impact can cause wear and tear in specific areas. Barreworks workouts add a necessary variety to your training and build strength that targets your core, chest, arms and back - areas essential to a well-balanced body.
Barre has been proven to increase your range of motion, gain coordination, proprioception and fluidity - all of which have a positive effect on your gait. By enhancing your understanding of your body, you minimize opportunity for injury.
Last, but not least, Barreworks' commitment to safety is at the forefront of all our classes. We understand the need for functional workouts, the importance of working muscles in sequence and in balance. We have designed all our classes to push and challenge your body in ways that will also increase awareness and prevent injury. Options to challenge yourself, or modify due to injury or limitation, are always available so that you can customize each class for what your body needs.
