What made you decide you wanted to teach at Barreworks? Upon being introduced to Barreworks by a friend and meeting the staff, clients and experiencing what Barreworks is all about, it immediately led to my desire to teach and be a part of the community here.
What do you love most about teaching yoga? Yoga has enhanced my life in ways beyond words over the last decade, and it’s simply such a joy to share this incredible practice. Secondly, I love that I get to learn just as much when I teach as when I practice.
What keeps you motivated/feeling positive on days when your body feels tired and your energy is low? It motivates me to know I always feel better mentally, emotionally and physically after making the effort to do what I love and what brings me joy.
How do you want your students to feel when they leave your classes? How do you help them achieve that? I want people to leave my classes feeling grounded yet energized. I design my classes to be effortful enough to decrease tension and stress while also providing space within the poses to feel relaxed and at ease.
What would you say is your greatest strength as an instructor/how will this positively impact your students? I’ve studied and been trained in such a variety of movement that I’m able to draw from a diverse background to meet the needs of each individual in the class.
What would you say to people trying yoga at Barreworks for the first time? Yoga at Barreworks is for everybody and every body. Come with an open-mind and be ready to work hard, rest easy and of course have a lot of fun!
